January block lotto

This is the colour palette for the January block. PRINTS ARE AWESOME for this block but the BLACK MUST BE SOLID KONA BLACK.

Here are some prints in the colour palette to show you some possibilities.

Supplies Needed:
Fabric A – four 5” squares and two 2.5" squares
Fabric B – four 5” squares and two 2.5" squares
Fabric C – four 5” squares and two 2.5" squares
Fabric D – four 5” squares and two 2.5" squares
prints are fine to use for these

Black Kona Cotton – four 2.5” x 5” rectangles and four 2.5” x 7” rectangles

NB: in the diagrams the white bits should actually be BLACK SOLID FABRIC!

Instructions:
  1. 1)  mark a line across the small squares from corner to corner on the wrong side of the fabric
  2. 2)  lay it out as shown in figure 1
figure 1
  1. 3)  place the small square on the white strips and “snowball' the corner so it looks like figure 2
figure 2
  1. 4)  sew the seams together to match figure 3
figure 3
  1. 5)  repeat with fabrics b-d
  1. 6)  Do not sew the four finished blocks together

Four finished mini blocks = one lotto ticket, so make four, make eight, make lots!
