We have a wonderful quilter in our group (actually we have LOTS of wonderful quilters in our group) but the one I am thinking of right now is Marianne Haak. Some of you have been lucky enough to meet this talented and generous lady. She splits herself between two homes, one near Edmonton and the other here in Victoria. And of course her home on the internet is The Quilting Edge.
Marianne has been very enthusiastic and supportive of starting this guild and we are glad she is a part of our group. We are so very pleased to announce that she won the Piecing Award (a cash prize no less!) at the 2013 AQS Modern Quilt Challenge for her lovely quilt "Ripple Effect II". This is the inaugural modern show that the AQS is hosting and due to its success they have now added a modern component to ALL their shows. Go modern quilts!

Marianne's blog is on our sidebar, and check out
her Flickr account for more beautiful pictures.
Marianne and her husband are moving house right now so I'm sure she is thinking about boxes not fabric but we wanted to send our congratulations and to say "come back soon!"
